Alte meets Shepeteri on Straffitti’s new song “Kuronbe” Ft. Zlatan Ibile.
For a while now, some of us have wanted to hear Zlatan Ibile on a rap beat because we all know that every dance wave that comes, eventually goes away. It doesn’t just go away, it tends to throw the artist behind that wave into a black hole of oblivion and irrelevancy.
If you were worried about Zlatan joining the ranks of forgotten dance wave artists when Zanku eventually fades away (should be anytime now), I’m here to tell you that you have nothing to worry about. Why? Kuronbe.
Straffitti recruits Zlatan Ibile to deliver the hook- for “Kuronbe” a heavy rap record produced by Johnson IP and G-Cl3f. Zlatan’s delivery on the hook is sublime and even though his verse on the song isn’t as smooth as you’d want it to be, you’ll easily forget about it when you’re back on that insane hook.
Matter of fact, Straffitti never disappoints at all and his decision to assemble the likes of Ice Prince, Pretty Boy D-O and Zlatan Ibile paid off as Kuronbe could easily be one of the best Nigerian rap songs of 2019.
Ice Prince serves us a rather laidback verse while Pretty Boy D-O comes through with his usual eccentric Culte vibes.
Nigerian hip-hop is making a serious comeback and Kuronbe is one of the standout tracks everyone should be turning up to.
