Nigerian rapper and performer, Jamal Swiss releases his first RECORD to listeners in 2018, titled, “No Stress”, produced by Jay Blakez.
No Stress is a rare blend of trap & highlife music fused to deliver an Afro-Trap number that listeners would be hooked to. It is inspired by the long chase and shenanigans most Nigerian women enjoy to put guys through before agreeing to go out on dates.
Jamal puts on an impressive display with good lyrical content and a strong delivery. He tells a vivid story of his personal experience with a lady over a well-crafted, minimal and enchanting beat. The mood of the song is one of calmness and its rustic sound quickly sucks the listener in with ease. Following the release of Fun last November, Jamal Swiss gets on a welcoming streak with producer, Jay Blakez, and listeners should anticipate more works from the two talented music makers.
Jamal speaks about the inspiration of the song saying:
“No Stress” is my own version and experience of trying to get a Nigerian babe to go out with you. It is an everyday story of how most ladies would front even when they really want to, just so you can show to a large extent that you are for real and not just looking for a one-time thing. Sonically, I wanted to do something I hadn’t done before, and from brainstorming sessions in the studio with my producer, we decided to create a fusion of highlife & trap, which I will describe as afro-trap.”
Jamal Swiss is not just a regular rapper, his energetic live performances and his admirable song writing skill makes him able to tell vivid stories through his music. At recently held cult event, Gidi Culture Fest 5 & Basement Gig, he rocked the stage with performances of Fun, Zion and new record, No Stress. He has 3 mixtapes to his name: Music In Session (2013), This Is Me (2013), and 2017’s Based On True Events EP with people’s favourite Black Corolla has its lead single.
