J. Cole is moving major weight with KOD as his latest project has smashed the U.S. record for the most streamed after its first 24 hours release.
A total of 64.5 million streams knocks Drake out of the top spot, whose 2016 album Views was the title holder up until this week with around a million less streams in 24 hours.
On top of that, seven songs from Cole’s KOD tops 10 of Apple Music’s most-streamed songs in a 24-hour period.
News of this streaming feat follows word that Cole’s title track “KOD” broke the opening day streaming record for Spotify; Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” which previously held the record.
KOD now also holds the title for Spotify’s most first-day albums streams with over 36.6 million:

KOD has received applause from many, including Kevin Durant, who asserts that J.Cole is a Legend already and added that “It felt like he was in my head as he was writing this album.”
But not everyone is satisfied with the message behind Cole’s latest project. Lil Pump responded to the rapper over an apparent diss on the outro, while Smokepurpp fans spent the weekend chanting “fuck J. Cole” at a concert.
