From ‘Ma Lo’ to ‘Mama’, the 2017 music playlist was lit because of some noteworthy collaborations.
A new year is here and we want to see even more coming together. Here are a couple of artistes we believe should work together this year in the Nigerian music industry.
5. Simi and Teni.
Isn’t it already your favorite song ?
Just imagine how earthy and groovy a single by these two talented song writers would be ? What would happen if you combine Simi’s pipes with Teni’s raspiness ? We are sure it would be some black girl magic on fleek.
4. Tiwa Savage and Mayorkun
Anyone who follows Tiwa Savage on Instagram knows that Mommy Jam Jam loves jamming up to ‘Che Che’. This then got us thinking what if she entered the studio and creates a jam with her vocals on it ? Mayorkun had a phenomenal 2017 and we are sure he’s going to have an even better 2018. Tiwa has never met a collaboration she didn’t slay, whether it was Wizkid, Sauti Sol or Reekado Banks, maybe it’s time Mayorkun joined Tiwa’s discography.
3. Burna Boy and Mr Eazi
While Nigerians are still deciding whether or not they have forgiven Mr Eazi, Temi Otedola’s boyfriend can speed up the process by working with one of Nigeria’s favourite, Burna Boy. We are sure that the bromance they always display on Twitter would translate wonderfully into a melodious single or two. It’s time Eazi attempted a new sound and Burna Boy might just be the right person to show him the way.
2. Maleek Berry and Tekno
These two producer turned artistes gave us some brain busting jams last year. Whether it was for their own project or for another artiste, Berry and Tekno definitely bring it every time. Now imagine a collaboration between these two, how insane would that be ?
1. Wizkid and Davido
Starboy and O.B.O. brought joy to Nigerians everywhere last month when they performed together not once, but twice. Now that the feud is over, wouldn’t it be great to have a single, or an E.P., to commemorate it ? We know ‘Baba Nla’ is creating new tunes, we can only pray that Davido is on the tracklist.
